The Board of Directors of the Friends of the Oswego Public Library meet
on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, September through June,
at 4:30 PM in the community room at the Library.

Mission Statement

To support the Oswego Public Library and
reading in the community by creating public
support and awareness for the library through
public relations and community engagement
efforts; to financially support library
programs and services through membership
drives and community fundraisers; to
promote legislation and appropriations that
support the library, and provide volunteers to
assist with library activities, in order to
promote reading and literacy for all ages and
populations served by the Oswego Public
Library.

Friends of the Library is an organization of patrons committed to expanding and enriching the programs of the Oswego Public Library.  They support:

  • children’s programs and activities such as Story Hours, Summer Reading, Battle of the Books, and others as needed
  • books for the adult Reading Circle and for the teen book discussions
  • holiday poinsettias to decorate the library
  • employee appreciation events such as an annual holiday tea
  • adult programming support as needed
